What is an iTero scanner?
The iTero is a digital intraoral scanner that creates precise 3D models of your teeth and gums. A small wand passes over your teeth while a computer builds a detailed 3D image in real-time. It's comfortable, fast, and far more accurate than traditional impression molds.
Is the digital scanner uncomfortable?
Not at all. The scanner wand is small and simply passes over your teeth without touching them much. Most patients find it far more comfortable than traditional impressions, especially those prone to gagging.
Are digital X-rays safe?
Yes, digital X-rays use significantly less radiation than traditional film X-rays—up to 80% less. We also use protective equipment and take only the necessary images for diagnosis. The radiation exposure is minimal and considered very safe.
What is ClinCheck?
ClinCheck is Invisalign's proprietary treatment planning software. It creates a 3D simulation of your teeth moving through treatment, showing you the expected outcome before you start. Dr. Garima uses it to plan and customize your aligner treatment.
When would I need a CBCT scan?
CBCT (Cone Beam CT) scans are used for complex cases requiring detailed 3D visualization—such as impacted teeth, severe crowding, or cases involving jaw surgery. Not everyone needs a CBCT; Dr. Garima will recommend it only if necessary for your treatment planning.
